PHOENIX - Police surrounded a home Friday night near 15th Avenue and Butler where a suspected robber was hiding.

But this isn't his home â€" it was one he randomly ran into trying to hide from police.

The man and two others had just robbed a pawn shop near Central and Dunlap. They entered the Super Pawn store brandishing a handgun and ordered the 3 employees on the ground, according to Phoenix Police Officer James Holmes. They used some sort of device to break the glass of the jewelry cases and stole several jewelry items. They then fled the scene.

Officers got the getaway vehicle's decription and conducted a high-risk stop near 16th Ave and Butler. Police arrested the two others, but he managed to get away and slip into the garage of that home.

The woman who lives there hid, but later told us she was actually taking this in stride.

“We were surrounded by police officers he was definitely on the lam,” she said. “I was locked inside my office. I didn’t know he was in the garage. We get this all the time, we don’t get it in the garage, but I’m not that alarmed.”

The man gave up and was taken into custody.
